Touch Controls That Actually Work

Touch Controls That Actually Work

July 15, 2026 · Henrik Vogel

Good touch controls are invisible. You stop thinking about your thumbs and just play. Bad ones put a wall between you and the game, and no amount of nice art fixes that.

Neon Circuit Rush is a case study in getting it right. The drift feels natural, and both tilt and touch options are properly tuned instead of one being an afterthought.

The worst offenders cram console layouts onto glass and hope for the best. Floating sticks that drift, buttons under your palm, menus made for a mouse. These are the games I uninstall fastest.

When you try a new game, give the controls five minutes of honest attention. If they're still fighting you, it rarely gets better.
